Kodak, is this the end of the road?

Yesterday various news sources and photography sites covered the announcement that Kodak was filing for bankruptcy. You can find more details regarding the announcement here http://www.kodaktransforms.com/ . For me though this announcement is more about the end of an era, long has been the debate around the digital vs film. True photography enthusiasts will always have a place in their hearts for film but there is no denying that photography has wholly shifted into the digital era and the Kodak announcement is just further confirmation of this. In my opinion the fight of digital vs traditional is still far from over. Recent announce by traditional tech companies who are players in the digital camera/ photography market have perhaps shown the best innovations in recent years and as cameras and photography continues to become more and more digitized the pressure will continue to mount on the traditional camera manufactures around the world. I am not sounding the death horn for the likes of the Canon's and Nikon's but I do believe that over the next 5-10 years they will face mounting pressure on their market share especially as the traction camera designs come under threat.
